I'm a baby blogger

Well...I made it! I'm part of the blog world. I've been reading my friend's blogs for quite some time now and I actually have one of my own.
I think this is a great way for friends and family that I am not always able to speak to as often as I'd like to be able to share in my journey of pregnancy. So...I'll start at the very beginning.
I found out I was pregnant on Black Friday. We had a big Thanksgiving celebration the day before at my parent's house. Everyone suspected that I was pregnant and seemed to be watching my every move in regards to drinking. Thanksgiving is known as a time where my cousins, significant others, my sister and I tend to drink alot of wine and beer. So great... Anyway...I had a ginger ale to begin with and I could see all the females watching every sip. I told them that I was not pregnant and then I proceeded to have a glass of red wine. I thought...well, it probably didn't work for us this month so I'll have a glass of wine. Oops..I had another one. I went home that night and had a good night's sleep! Now...I wasn't going to find out if I was pregnant for another couple of days (at least I thought). I had one more pregnancy test left in the 2 pack I had bought the month beforehand. I thought...well, Ill just take it and get it out of the way so I can buy a new pack on Sunday. I got up, took the test and went back to bed. About 2 minutes later, my curiosity got the best of me. I jumped out of bed and don't you know that little stick said PREGNANT. It took about a minute to register. I started to scream out loud and cry. I mean scream! My husband works night shift so he was not home yet. I was screaming like a crazy woman in our house. I couldn't believe it worked!! I proceeded to take about 4 more pregnancy tests every day after and they were all positive. I am now 13 weeks pregnant!
When it really sunk in, I started to think about what it really meant. As the first few weeks went by I became so humbled by it all. How amazing is it that I was able to create life. I was responsible for growing this little human in my body and then I would release it to the world. I felt overwhelmed by the whole process and thanked God repeatedly for allowing me to do this. (I'm not an overly religious person, but this really struck a cord with my relationship with God) I still am thankful and grateful for the chance to do this.
I've had my first ultrasound and my first doctor's appointment. I saw the baby move in my body and I cried like a little girl. However, the moment that I felt most connected so far was hearing the heartbeat. Entwined with my little one's heartbeat, I heard my own. It was so beautiful to hear our heartbeats thumping together. We are buddies. I'm crying as I write this...pregnancy hormones:)
So...there it is for now... my first blog!! I'll write more later. I need some ice cream.
