i forgot to take a pic last week...

Well.. I am in my 34th week. I'm feeling good for the most part. My feet are still big gals but they aren't terrible. I'm still sleeping okay too...which i am happy about!! He is definitely getting bigger because his movements are pretty intense sometimes. It's hysterical to see a big movement at one side of my belly and then one at the total other end. I think he is running out of room. haha.

The nursery is the big to do thing on my list right now!! There are frames to hang, shelves to hang, a bookcase to paint and a big decal tree to put up. My mom helped me put the clean clothing away in the drawers yesterday. We were laughing at how much clothing he has for hte first 3 months of his life. My sister is coming over on Thursday night to tackle the tree decal for the wall. It's 7 feet tall and each leaf has to be put on separately. My parents are coming over on Friday so my dad can hang all the stuff (pics etc). Remember that list I talked about...haha!

I also scheduled an appointment with the daycare for next week. My parents will be daycare three times a week and he will go to The Malvern School twice a week. It's right across the street from my apartment and my mom's best friend had worked there for a while. So....Im gonna check it out!!

Now...I may seem "put together" or "organized". It is only because I recognize that everything surrounding his arrival is pretty much out of my control. A control freak has to get her control somewhere people.

Will my baby have hair?

I've been asked this question a few times. I think he will as myself, my sister and my parents were all born with a ton of hair. My sister and my dad were hairy beasts when born. Tim (the father if you will) was born with blond hair that soon turned to black when he was about 2.
Here is a picture of my sister when she was 4 days old.
a. how cute is she?
b. i look a bit evil.
c. sweet couch

I also added a pic of Tim..not sure how old he is but I'm guessing 6-8 months. Although I have some feelings about him...he was a cute baby!

Happy Father's Day

Another late blog!!
Yesterday was father's day and we spent it at my parent's house. I just wanted to take a moment to let all of you know how wonderful my father has been to my sister and me. My dad has worked hard all of his adult life to provide for his family. He has been a wonderful, loving husband to my mother and a committed, doting father to his daughters. He is such an amazing man and has given us so much. I am so happy that he will be a role model to my son. Throughout the last 6 months, he has shown support, love and strength. Happy Father's Day dad....I love you.
Here is a pic of him from when he was a kid...I can't take it!

33 Weeks

Oh no...im a bit late with this blog entry:) I turned 33 weeks last Thursday. You know...Im sleeping well. I still get up to tinkle alot, but all in all Im sleeping pretty well. I am feeling quite large and in charge. Again, I look at myself in the mirror and think..I'm still kinda cute. I then see a picture of myself and I'm like dear God, I ate nonpregnant Katie.
A funny thing to add....I had to get my drivers license picture taken last week (on
Friday). Now, my last picture was about a month after I was married. I was looking pretty darn good (if i say so myself) and thin. Cut to....8 months pregnant. The guy took the picture and was like, "Can you live with this picture for the next four years?" He was trying to be funny and cordial. I said no. He said, Oh well we can take another one. I said, "Can I lose 35 pounds in 10 seconds?" He awkwardly laughed and didn't make eye contact. I'm mean... The pic isn't bad but it does appear as if I ate my thinner version of me.
Finally...I am starting to get the nesting urge. I started to take off tags of 0-3 month clothing and I am really beginning to work on the nursery. I cannot wait to meet my little guy. I started to dream about him....had my first vivid dream of taking care of him the other night.
On a personal note....my baby's daddy (so far by genetics only) has agreed to meet with me and my therapist to work on how we can be parents together. I'm looking forward to that....dripping with sarcasm:)

A fun day despite the rain

My friend Laura had a housewarming picnic yesterday. The forecast all week said that Saturday would be the nicest day of the week. LIARS! I'm kind of getting sick of weather reports...but so I digress. Anyway...despite the rain it turned out to be a really nice time. There were so many cute kids there of all ages and they seemed to be having a blast. Laura's house is beautiful and she threw a great party!

My friends bought a cake and sung happy birthday to me. Maria bought trick candles which I haven't seen in a long time...funny. It was very nice to spend my birthday with friends. I had a great time.

PS...my feet were huge by the end of the night. My friend Katie tried to lie to me and say that it was just my ankles. She broke and finally admitted that yes, my feet were big:) They don't hurt...which is a good thing:)

I should play 32 in the lottery

So...I am 32 weeks pregnant and I turn 32 years old today!!
Im feeling pretty good this week. I've been sleeping better even though I am still getting up to go to the bathroom about 3-4 times a night:) My feet are still swelling but not terribly. It's so funny to think that this is the last birthday I will be without child. I can't believe its only 8 weeks until the big day!
I had my childbirth classes last Sunday and my breastfeeding class on Wednesday. They both went well and were very informative. However, I feel like breastfeeding seems very complicated. It is supposed to be so natural but for some reason it is very complex to me. The childbirth class was great...alot of information and tips. The only thing I would ask for is an exact date that I will have the baby. My guess now is the very end of July (a week early). That would be nice...haha. I think that may be one of the hardest things in pregnancy. The uncertainty... I guess that carries over to parenting as well:)
I had maternity pictures taken on Saturday. They turned out really nice. Ill post a few if I can figure out how to do so:)
I am going to start working on the nursery this weekend. I keep looking at all of his little clothes. I cannot wait until he is here...I just want to meet him and see him. I'm dying to know what he will look like.
Happy Birthday to me!!

31 weeks

As my sister would put it...you are down to single digit weeks!! 9 weeks to go. How insane. My furniture came in on Wednesday. The delivery guys put it together and it looks very nice. My recliner/ottoman set is in and my friend Jen's husband is picking it up on Sunday and bringing it into my apartment for me. Maybe I should leave a list for him too....he is an engineer like my dad. haha. I will take some pics of the nursery when I am finished. I am looking for a cute bookcase for the nursery...and Im going to check out IKEA.
I have my birthing class this Sunday. My sister Liz and I are ready to go. I have a feeling that she will be a very good "partner" and she will be more organized then me. I have a breastfeeding class next Wednesday that I am taking with two girlfriends from work. I'm looking forward to that as well.
Now...the funny thing about this blog post is this... I act as if I have it all under control and organized. Deep down...I'm spazzing a bit. I'm having some anxiety about only having 9 weeks left to prepare. However, I know that I will have everything ready. As my friends have said...you only really need diapers and your boob.
One last funny thing. I got a pedicure tonight. It was great and my toes look quite nice. The nail lady, as she was massaging my big fat feet, says, "Does your husband give you a massage?" I had many thoughts, comments, expletives and insane things to say. However I said...no, not really. The nice comment to make would be, My husband gave me this baby. I have a few mean comments about what my husband has given me but I'll leave those to your imagination:) (A massage...no, it felt like a punch in the face when he told me he was leaving the marriage, baby and had a girlfriend) oops..i wrote one down. ahha (she laughs out loud sarcastically)

Tinkle

My excretory system has gone into overdrive the last two weeks. I am attempting to stay hydrated and during the week I usually accomplish this task. Often, i start to feel the sensation of having to "go" but when I stand it becomes overwhelming. It's like he readjusts himself and lounges right on my bladder. I actually have to take a second to take a deep breath and then jog to the bathroom. The more interesting part of this efficient excretory system of mine is how crazy it is overnight. I am now getting up about 5 times a night to go to the bathroom. You would think that by time 3 or 4 I would not have that much liquid left in my body to excrete. You would think wrong. I know our bodies are made up of 60-70 percent water (thank you Internet). I think I put out about 50 percent of that overnight. So now I of course start to panic wondering if my body is getting rid of too much liquid and not giving enough to the baby. Then I just think that the baby is just a very efficient guy, using what he needs and getting rid of the rest. Then i realize....I have no idea what I am talking about. Haha. Just thought I'd share.
